I'm Quitting What Sheridan Said
Hey everyone, welcome to another episode of What Sheridan Said… or I guess this one’s a little different.
It’s really hard for me to say this, but after almost a year of doing this every single week, I’ve made the decision to quit the series.
A couple of weeks ago, I got the call that changed everything. I was offered a writing role on a brand new TV series — and not just any series. It’s with A24, and I’d be working directly alongside Brie Larson!!!
This is truly something I’ve been dreaming about, but never actually expected it to happen. I’ve been a huge fan of Brie since the first time I watched Scott Pilgrim vs. the World when it came out. Then, during COVID, when everything shut down, and I was stuck spinning my wheels like everyone else, I decided to use that time for studying. I binged every screenwriting course I could find online, stayed up late filling journals with story ideas, and straight-up wrote in one of them: ‘My goal is to one day write something for A24.’
Fast forward to now… and here we are. They’re developing this really intimate, character-driven project; the kind of bold, sometimes controversial storytelling A24 is famous for, but with a genre-bending twist that feels fresh. Brie’s attached to star, and they want me in the writers’ room helping shape the whole thing.
It’s absolutely wild because ever since I started What Sheridan Said, I’ve been treating my weekly chaotic diary entries like they were scripts for a cable drama series.
Shutting down What Sheridan Said is genuinely heartbreaking. I’ve found so much of myself by writing to you each week. This little show became my ritual — you became my circle.
But when something like this doesn’t come along very often… You have to go for it.
It feels like the chapter I was always building toward.
[short pause, let it breathe for a second]
…April Fools, I'm simply manifesting. ♡ (:
I’ll see you next Wednesday for another completely normal episode of What Sheridan Said. 💋

You (thinking out loud): “I mean, I could support her, but I’m lame. Well, I don’t want to be lame, I want to be cool, you know? Like that girl Sheridan, my god, she’s so cool. — If only there were a way to be as cool as her? — idk —oh yeah, I guess by upgrading, I’d become so cool, maybe, Sheridan will hit me in the face.”
Me, aka ‘Sheridan The Great’, aka ‘That Bitch’: “I will not hit you in the face, unless you do something hit-worthy and we are in international waters on a yacht that I own. But if you do upgrade, I will think you are super mega popular and cool.”
