Last week’s episode, Sheridan fled the city to escape a digital stalker and a black-cat landlord named Stephen. She thought she’d found peace in the woods. Instead, she found bugs with boundary issues, Claritin addiction, and a feline nemesis straight out of a gothic fever dream. Allergic, over-it, and dramatically under-oxygenated, she packed her life (again) and drove toward safe house number two—cat-free, bug-light, and mercifully breathable. But as the air clears, new questions settle in: what happens when the chaos finally stops following you, and you’re left alone with the quiet?

Let’s start where we left off. I’m officially at my second safe house, cat dander-free and thriving, and I’ve had so much time to think, write, try new things, and apply to roughly 1,000 jobs.
